- 07 September 2010 - IISS Book Launch - Strategic Survey 2010
On Tuesday 7 September 2010, at 10am, the IISS will launch Strategic Survey 2010, its annual review of world affairs.
Dr John Chipman, IISS Director-General and Chief Executive, will present the main arguments of the book and comment on recent events. Dr Chipman, Alexander Nicoll, Editor of Strategic Survey, and other senior IISS experts will then answer questions.

On Thursday 9 September Lieutenant General Gerson Menandro Garcia de Freitas, Deputy Chief of Army General Staff (Policy and Strategy), Brazilian Army, will speak on “The Brazilian National Defence Strategy: an Army perspective” from 11am-12pm.

On Thursday 9th September 2010 Radha Vinod Raju, Former Special Director-General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir; and former Director-General, National Investigative Agency, India will speak on “Perspective on Kashmir” from 2-3pm.

Global security governance and the emerging distribution of power’ is the theme under which the 8th Annual IISS Global Strategic Review (GSR) will be convened in Geneva on 10-12 September 2010.
The GSR is an essential forum for those seeking to understand the forces shaping global security. The keynote speech will be delivered by Dr Henry Kissinger, Former US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor.
