‘Rebalancing Global Geo-economic Strategies for Security, Growth and Development’

The Bahrain Global Forum has been designed by The International Institute for Strategic Studies as a summit meeting of key political figures, finance and treasury ministers and officials, business people, economists, strategists and leaders of international economic and financial institutions. Its purpose is to examine the manner in which international financial and economic movements affect local, regional and international relations, and to assist the development of sound public policies to deal with the impact of such geo-economic changes.

The Bahrain Global Forum will be convened from 14 to 16 May 2010.

The Manama Dialogue 2009

Manama Dialogue 2009 Keynote Address - Sh Dr Muhammad Al Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait.

The 6th IISS Regional Security Summit: The Manama Dialogue was convened in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 11 to 13 December 2009.

The Keynote Address was given by Sh Dr Muhammad Al Sabah Al Salem Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait.

"This conference provides an ideal forum for discussing the challenges and the opportunities facing the region, and it is maturing into the most important regional security conference in the Middle East."

The Shangri-La Dialogue 2009

The 8th Shangri-La Dialogue was convened in Singapore from 29 to 31 May, 2009.

The Shangri-La Dialogue is recognised as a key event for defence and security diplomacy for the region. Since its inaugural meeting in 2002, the Dialogue has become an integral part of the architecture of Asian defence diplomacy and is seen as the region's premier and most inclusive security institution.

The 2009 Shangri-La Dialogue Keynote Address was given by Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia.
